Just random thoughts on a lazy saturday

I know its been awhile since I've posted, and the few people that read this might have gotten a little anxious or I'm just projecting my anxiousness onto them, but never the less I am posting after a long silence.
I've been reading a couple of blogs out there dealing with divination, the runes in particular.
I actually do have a set of Runes, or I did until I broke them with the help of my car.
I don't know what it is about them but...I keep breaking them.
Or I keep losing my Tarot cards.
I have a special place to put my cards, and for some reason I take some more care in keeping them up....its odd isn't it?
A druid that doesn't have a great affinity for the Runes?
The Tarot Cards I have now, The druid craft deck, really resonate with me and I get really good readings with them.
I can read with the runes but...they seem a little more abstract and difficult.
I usually only use them for special events, the power of the occasion helps balance out the lack of connection in my opinion.
I usually don't give readings willy nilli but for my personal use I tend to steer clear of it unless I just want a clear perspective.
I don't believe in using divination to replace problem solving or logical decision making.
I agree wholeheartedly with the anchient druid belief that it is on;y used once per problem per day, period.
The latest reading I did was for myself concerning my independence from my mother.
It was an interesting reading...full of double meanings and things  I hadn't thought of.
I used a celtic cross spread with my druid craft deck.
                  5                            10
6               1/2             3              9
                  4                               8
                                                   7

This diagram is a little crude but it does show the positions of the ten cards.

Card 1 represents the present situation or the Querent.  In the  reading it came up as the 4 of cups reversed.
Reversed cards can mean the opposite or a lesser form of the card rightside up.
The Querent is involved in a inappropriate relationship that needs to end. The querent wants to start out on her own, going to college and moving out of the home, but the thought of being on her own is terrifying.
Card 2 is the immediate challenge that is facing the Querent. The king of cups as a court card can represent a person or situation that has the attributes related to the card, a male figure who is compassionate, sincere and tolerant. this doesn't sound ld lite a problem individual at first but it maybe that the querent is searching for this individual or needs to recognize that he is already there for them on an emotional level.
Card 3 is the foundation of the current problem. The 2 of pentacles represents juggling between two parts of yourself, finding balance and acceptance for all you are.  This juggling is more on a practical level, pentacle cards usually represtent mony or the day to day aspects of living in the material world. taking care of business is the root of your issues with the person mentioned in card earlier.
Card 4, Cernunnos reversed, is the recent past.   She has broken free of an unhappy situation where there was an abuse of power but she is still unaware of the true ramifications of that situation. The querent is aware of a situation, feeling trapped, but isn't aware of the WHOLE picture.
Card 5 represents the best that can be achieved in that situation.
Card 6 is the immediate future, The Lovers reversed means separation  and a destructive love. Again not a good situation, she is feeling very isolated and her love of others is destroying her on the inside.
Card 7, inner feelings of the querent, is 9 pentacles reversed. Priorities and way are both lost due to lack of discipline or perseverance. While all your physical needs are being met the querent is still feeling listless and lost.
Card 8 is the external influences on the querent .  Like a reed in the wind bending the winds of change can be good but too much bending will l break the reed in two.even the flexible have their breaking points...find yours and stick to it.
The hopes and fears of the querent are represented by Card 9, The Princess of wands.  She is hoping to be inspired by someone, female, and is hoping they will communicate with her about a new creative ventures soon. This also relates to a spiritual  venture, because of the wands suit.
The final outcome, card ten, is a light at the end of the tunnel. The ten of pentacles points towards a reprieve that lets you count your many blessings., even difficult circumstances have their hidden benefits.
